Avocado and olive oil

Next time you’re craving a little rainy day self-care, here’s some zero dollar pampering that can all be done in the comfort of your own kitchen.

There are definitely benefits that come along with making your own hair masks. Besides being super-fun, you won’t be breaking the bank or going very far for some DIY indulgence. Simply head to the fridge or pantry, grab a few ingredients, and get to pampering. Unsure where to begin? Apple cider vinegar, green tea, avocado, eggs, bananas, olive oil, coconut oil, yogurt, and honey are all great options.

Avocado & Coconut Milk

  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 1 tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 tbsp. honey
  • 1/8 cup coconut milk

Combine all ingredients in a blender. Smooth the ingredients through your hair and put your hair in a clip or bun. After 30 minutes shampoo and condition your hair.

Yolks & Mayo

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • ½ cup olive oil
  • 3 egg yolks

Mix all ingredients together in a bowl, apply all over your hair and put on a shower cap. Let sit for 20 minutes. Rinse out well and shampoo and condition.

Yogurt & ACV

  • ½ cup plain yogurt
  • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice (diluted with 2 tbsp water)

Mix all ingredients together in a bowl. Apply all over and massage into the scalp. Leave on for one minute and rinse.
